Name Andrew Day
Category Chair of Governors
Term  11 Nov 2015 to 9 Nov 2019

Current membership and responsibilities:

Andrew is a Co-opted governor, responsible for Safeguarding and also serves on the Resource Committee

Governance Experience:

Andrew was appointed to the Governing Body in November 2015. As a Governor who is responsible for Safer Recruitment, he was part of the committee that appointed the current Head Teacher.

Professional Experience:

Working as a senior Manager within a multi-national telecoms company specialising in Cyber Security, Andrew is used to managing teams, budgets and targets at a global level. Taking these skills into the Governor role, he believe he can help Gaddesden row by bringing groups together to achieve successful outcomes, within challenging timescales.

Personal interests:

A resident of nearby Piccotts End, Andrew enjoys spending time with his family. One of Andrew's children currently attends Gaddesden Row School and his eldest child recently moved onto Secondary school having spent all 7 years of primary school at Gaddesden Row. His love of all sports isn’t diminished by his lack of personal ability. Meaning his poor children are left with the pushy dad shouting them on from the side-lines at various weekly events including football, Gymnastics, and cycling. When it all gets too much, Andrew can be found walking the dog around the beautiful countryside we are lucky to have on our doorstep.

Business Interests:

Andrew works for BT Group within the network Security Practice.

Her corporate background is in Project Management, where she worked as a Facilities & Operations Manager before taking the leap in to entrepreneurship. During her working life, she has been responsible for managing large teams of people, as well as coordinating multiple commercial projects of significant value across varying business sectors. Kathryn is honoured to be part of the journey of this amazing school and currently has two attending Gaddesden Row.

Personal interests:

Two things have been a major influence in Kathryn’s life passions. One is her love of the natural world (mostly coming from being glued to everything David Attenborough has ever filmed) and the other is her appreciation for the planet, which has come from her love of travel. Having been fortunate enough to see many countries around the world (as she travelled with her grandparents at a young age) Kathryn hopes that her children get even half the opportunity she had to experience our wonderful planet and the beauty within it. Most recently Kathryn realised she is also about 20 years too late to be a pro-snowboarder, having only taken up the sport in 2007, however, she likes to dream about what would have been if she could wind back the clock!
